Science is a process by which we learn, not simply a body of knowledge to memorize. My approach to teaching biological and chemical sciences is two-pronged: to help students acquire the knowledge base necessary for understanding science, and to instill critical thinking skills through the scientific method of inquiry. I love to help students see the big picture of how various aspects of science fit together and to make connections between what they are learning and their own lives. A Little Bit About Me...

There is no better moment that when a child becomes engaged and starts understanding and asking questions. Once a child starts asking questions you know that they are excited about it and want to learn. When teaching my goal is always to get children excited about what they are doing and then proceed from there. All children have different strengths and I try to work from those strengths.
I recently graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering. I have taken extensive courses in math and science. Math and science are fields that I love and excel at. While in undergrad I was active in many student organizations and volunteer opportunities. I volunteered at science olympiad for a year and also tutored middle school students. I have earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry, and throughout my school days I excelled in math and science and was often asked for help in understanding the class material by my fellow students. I was a teaching assistant for two years, and instructed chemistry laboratories. I also ran office hours to instruct students in the math and problems in the lecture course they were having problems with. I have mostly tutored in math and science.
I love teaching and seeing the student's eyes light up when they understand something that had been eluding them. I am patient and considerate. My teaching style tends to be by example, or by visual.
