Having my bachelor degree in English and Philosophy, I have been given a unique understanding towards how to ask questions to make people think about the material they're reading, and what questions the material is trying to ask. Supporting this is my background as a writing center assistant at college which not only offered me the chance to improve my own work, but, also to learn how to guide frustrated students without giving in to the temptation to do the work for them. During this past year, I have worked with second and third generation Chinese children, teaching English, math, art and science on a first grade level.

During this time, I had the opportunity to work with The Everyday Math Program, inquiry based learning, and 6-Trait Writing. I specialized in teaching Science and Social Studies when I was teaching fifth grade along with the Reading, Language, Spelling subjects. After a two year break, I'm currently substituting in many districts around Deerfield. I have subbed in Kindergarten through fifth as well as special need classrooms.
