A Little Bit About Me...

Hi! My name is Allison. I am originally from Jackson, MS and currently live in Little Rock, AR. I am a student of life and love to learn and teach! Most of my teaching experience has been in general studies with students in the range of 9 yrs to 21 yrs old. I enjoy teaching all subjects as well as study and learning skills to students of all ages. I believe in working with parents and/or students to tailor my services to meet each individual student's needs. K-12 and College Tutor

I have tutored K-12 students, as well as college students. I tutor math for K-12 students and business courses and math for college students. I have a 100% success rate for the students I have tutored in my eight years of tutoring since 2004. I am a caring individual and I do what ever it takes to make sure that my students get the concept they are learning, I will not move forward till they do.
I have the take a learning styles test in our very first meeting to see what style of learner the are. I then concentrate on teaching them by what learning style they are.

I have tutored most subjects in both in middle school and high school. My most recent experience was tutoring psychology and spanish at the college level. I do not hold a teaching certificate, but I do love to teach.
I always adapt my teaching style to fit the student. I am willing to do just about anything to help a student learn a subject, so long as that student is as dedicated to learning it as I am to teaching it. It takes two people working together in order to have a sucessful tutoring session.

I have tutored at several locations and can provide references for the high school and college students that I have tutored. I would also be comfortable teaching basics of math, physics, or Spanish. I have taught University classes on chemistry for beginners (high school level) as part of my graduate assistantship.
Very comfortable working with large groups or individuals. I have like to use interaction and real-world examples to demonstrate the concepts of chemistry. I can drill students who are struggling or not comfortable with the rhythm of the classroom, or review with A.P. chemistry students before a test. I believe we all learn in different ways, and I am always open minded in finding the best way for that student I am working with at that time. I believe everyone can achieve the highest of goals if we all strive for that success and find out a way to get there. I have earned a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Math. I am currently working as a chemist, so I have kept up with all the new studies that are taking place right now.
