As a tutor, I review previous test, quizzes and work with the student to see where the "disconnect" lies. Most students are very capable, they just need someone to explain the material in a way they understand. Some students are visiual learners, other kinetic learners or they learn by doing. I've realized over the last four years that students want to learn and do well. I enjoy watching students when they grasp onto a concept they originally thought was too difficult.
