Graphic Design is one of my top subjects! I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design with a concentration in Illustration. I began using the Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop about fifteen years ago and know the Creative Suite pretty well. Nevertheless, we must remember that these are the tools of the designer and it is the human who makes the decisions in the creative work.

I give the student a lot of credit. The learning process is a sort of guided exploration.

I earned a BFA in Visual Communication Design with an emphasis in Illustration from the University of Dayton in 2001. In 2005 I completed an MFA in Painting at Northern Illinois University. I have taught drawing and graphic design courses at the college level and have experience working with children as a counselor and art teacher at summer camps. I love kids, and I love helping them learn new things.

I hold a bachelor's degree in art education and a master's degree in arts management. With these degrees, I have taught in the public schools and have held positions in the education departments of several major museums. I have taught a wide variety of course and all age levels. I am certified to teach both visual arts and computers, business, and marketing. I am an art teacher in the Chicago Public Schools currently.
