I believe that patience and understanding are very important parts of teaching. I believe that it is important to understand an individual's distinct learning style. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have always had a passion for learning and helping others. I am a very laid-back, out going person but I never stray from the main goal at hand. I strive to help educate children the best way possible, and would like to make a difference in their life. My education growing up was very positive, and going to a smaller school enabled me to have one on one contact with my educators. I hope to allow the child to feel comfortable with me as a tutor and build a relationship that makes them feel like they are an individual, not a number.
As a recreation major, I have held a number of jobs working with children of all ages. My first job as a lifeguard and swim instructor helped me understand how to work with children ages three to fifteen and really get a feel for how their brains operate and the proper learning styles to use for each age.
