I am a recent graduate with straight A’s from Lewis-Clark State College with a major in Biology. I took many classes in math to receive my degree. I tutored students at the University of Montana enrolled in biology and anatomy courses. The students I tutored had significantly better test scores than their previous ones. At LCSC, I assisted one of my professors for her online chemistry courses. I made keys and graded their homework and added notes to help them for future assignments. I was also enrolled in human dissection. A large portion of the course was teaching the human anatomy students certain body parts. The feedback I received from the students was positive and they said that my lectures were easy to understand.

My teaching experience actually extends back to high school where not only did I tutor fellow students in math and chemistry but I also taught swim lessons as my part time job. More recently I tutored students in the chemistry study center at the University of Washington. Furthermore, anyone who attends a University knows that being a successful active learner involves studying in groups where you teach others and others teach you.
As a teacher or tutor it is very important to realize that everybody learns differently. Because of this you have to strive to find the way your student learns and utilize creative ways to make sure the student understands what you are teaching to them. In my experience I have used pictures, words, books, varying explanations, and multiple examples to teach.

As one of only 60 graduates in the Biochemistry&Molecular Biophysics program, I have extensive training in mathematics, physical/organic chemistry, and biophysics. My double major in Molecular&Cellular Biology couples biological systems and human physiology with the "harder" physical/chemical sciences. With over 5 years experience as a Medical Dosimetrist, I have only recently turned to more creative pursuits. I'm currently a freelance writer, composing print copy, articles, reports, web content, and e books.
