My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I have had a few things published.

Not only have I tutored my nieces and nephews throughout their K-12 and even into college, I have a background in copy editing, I have been in a few minor publications, I am a competent mathematician, and I have a deep fascination and interest in science. My education is in psychology, philosophy, and English Writing, and I have a broad understanding of social/political theories, biology, math and algebra, and earth science. I am also highly knowledgeable of many books that are commonly assigned for high school readings.
To use class material as a core of what is being taught, but also adding extra information when relevant to understanding the material, offering tips and advice, and a sharp eye for finding mistakes and the tact to offer constructive criticism to help overcome and prevent future mistakes.

As an undergrad, I excelled in the arts, history and social science courses. However, I lacked interest in math (I didn't get it) and failed college algebra two times! My goal was to graduate college and I decided to seek help. I came across the tutoring center on campus and found a tutor that changed my perception about math! A Little Bit About Me...

Beyond the subject matter and what I will be teaching, I have to spend some time getting to know the child. If I do not take the time to make them feel important and show that they have value, then the teaching part is meaningless. A relationship has to be established not only between a teacher and a student but, between two human beings. I like creating a safe environment where students feel comfortable enough to ask the most basic questions and ask for help on challenging problems.
