I believe that questions are more powerful teaching tools than simply delivering answers. I do not wish to teach my students WHAT to think; my goal is to help students learn HOW to think, and to develop a pssion for learning which extends well beyond their formal schooling.

Working with children has always been my passion. I feel as though it is important to engage all different types of learners and to make them feel as if the classroom is a place where everyone is safe and included. My teaching style is entirely individualized to meet the needs of the child. As a special educator, my instruction has most often been diagnostic, targeted to meet specific goals and objectives. I relate activities to real life, so that lessons are interesting and students can apply and generalize learned skills. I use a multisensory approach. A Little Bit About Me...

I feel I am qualified to be a tutor due to my current and previous teaching experiences in elementary and middle school, as well as, the successful completion of hands-on educational courses in History, Math, Language Arts, and Science from my graduate program.
