I began tutoring SAT students and teaching prep classes for the Princeton Review in 1989. I have taught GED prep for Rockingham County Services. In 1992, I began tutoring special needs students and teaching summer school social studies at Portsmouth High School (1992-1997). That year, I returned to college and earned a degree in English. My teaching style is entirely individualized to meet the needs of the child. As a special educator, my instruction has most often been diagnostic, targeted to meet specific goals and objectives. I relate activities to real life, so that lessons are interesting and students can apply and generalize learned skills. I use a multisensory approach.
