Elementary Phonics is one of my top subjects! I have 13 years in Elementary Education teaching K. I have an understanding of what is expected in the early grades.

I like to see where the student is and meet him there. Look at what needs to be taught and discover the best way to impart that learning to the individual child.
I have taught K for 13 years. I understand the value of one on one time, and that students are all different. Recently I spent 10 months teaching missionary children in Uganda. There I taught 4th, 5th, and 7th graders. Students in my class have had vision issues, autism, aspergers, and ADD/ADHD. My job as an educator is to teach them how to learn it and make them want to learn it. I personally do not believe that negative reinforcement is beneficial. Positive responses to students are extremely valuable, even if they may occasionally give the wrong answer. This will give them the motivation to do well. A Little Bit About Me...

I attended a small town highschool, but excelled above most of my peers there. I was on the Honor Roll, i can honestly never remember getting any grade lover than a high B, but once. And that was in Spanish, which I do not tutor in, haha. I believe my strong point would be English. Not only am I good at it, I ENJOY it. A Little Bit About Me...

After finishing my undergraduate work, I was a substitute teacher for 7 months. I then went on to Belmont University where I recieved my Masters in Education, which required a one year student teaching placement. I have also served as a TCAP interventionalist where I helped students prepare for the statewide achievment test.
