As a tutor, my job is to take students from where they are to where they need to be. I can do this successfully for several reasons. First, I am patient. Often student frustration stems from classes proceeding too fast, and teachers lacking time to help slower learners. By patiently working with a student, I can teach at a pace that works best for them, overcoming much discouragement that comes from falling behind. Second, I am very flexible in my teaching methods. If a student is struggling, I am committed to trying different approaches until the student has mastered the concept.
