My comments on tutoring Dyslexia : Over the past year, I used the Wilson Fundations Program with a student and it has helped them become a better reader

I have been working with Elementary aged children for over 7 years. I have had many different teaching experiences working with grades K-2. I have tutored primarily in reading with an emphasis on guided reading strategies, phonemic awareness, and word building. In the area of math, I have experience with the programs: Calendar math, Investigations, and Singapore Math. For Writing, I have used the Lucy Culkins Program as well as 6 Traits writing. I enjoy working with students to help them gain confidence and find their passion in learning.
When I first meet my students, I want them to feel comfortable with me and what we will be doing. I consider myself to be a life long learner. I am eager to learn and attend professional development regularly. I hold a Masters degree in Education. A Little Bit About Me...

I have an innate instinct to teach and a drive that brings me great satisfaction from teaching. In working with children from preschool age through high school, I have come to recognize the uniqueness of each age group but have developed no preference as I enjoy working with all children.
