A Little Bit About Me...

As a valued member of the ANA faculty and team I continually worked to lift the standards and proficiency of all the students that I taught both directly and indirectly to prepare them for the rigors of high school and college. As the English Department Chair I mentored and provided leadership to the staff I supervised as well as my fellow colleagues. I earned a BS in Education as well as a Certification in TESL. During my many years of teaching I have mentored and tutored students in English, History, ESL and Study Skills (which focused on time management, organization, note taking and test taking skills as well as building self-esteem.) A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is a facilitating process. I believe it is my job to aide the student in developing a more solid understanding of the coursework in front of them. This may involve explaining the same concept to the child in a variety of ways to help them understand. The child may also just require a patient instructor who is willing to keep practicing until they have reached the mastery stage of learning. As a recent graduate from Salem State College, I have earned my BA degree in English, with a minor in History. Writing and reading is something I am very passionate about.
