As a student at the University of Chicago, I have tutored at the local Ray Elementary school through the Neighborhood Schools program. There, I tutored two fourth grade ESL students, an Italian boy and a Korean girl, primarily in math and reading. I have also tutored at the STRIVE tutoring center, helping a 7th grader and 8th grader with math and reading. As a mathematics major and a math whiz in high school, I have covered calculus and algebra material many times over and approached them in multiple ways (analysis, IBL, etc). I worked very hard to receive an A- for the course, which turned out to be my favor. I had insight to the intellectual hurdles other students had to overcome to master the material.
