After I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, I was chosen by the Mayor of Bremerton to teach English in Japan for three years. Upon my return to the United States, I immediately went back to school for my teaching certificate in Elementary Education. I have found that tutoring sessions are most effective when they are fun! Many students find it difficult to stay focused, especially after a full school day. For this reason, I prefer to change tasks frequently and use a variety of fun games to switch up the pace of the session. Learning can be frustrating for many students when a particular subject does not come as naturally or easily as other subjects. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all children can learn you just have to find their style. Each person has their own unique learning style. That is why tutoring can truely help students become better learners because a one on one approach can help them find their style and become their own advocates.
I knew I wanted to teach at grade 5. All my education from that time on was directed to become a teacher. During my graduate work at the University of Oregon I majored in Reading. It has become my passion to help all students love reading and become comfortable reading.
