Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! I took a creative writing class for two years in high school. I feel that I have a very creative mind and I have good writing composition. I received an A in the class both years.

What I try to do first is get the student to work out the problem, and as they are doing that I will work the problem as well. We will go over our answers together so I have a chance to explain the problem to the student. I believe that repitition and practice makes perfect as long as you have someone to explain it along the way. I will thoroughly explain the problem to the student if they don't understand it. By the end I would hope that the student could then explain how to do the problem to me.
I am now a sophomore at Germanna Community College. I have taken Algebra, Biology, English, Contemporary Mathematics, and various psychology courses. All Things Writing!!!

Writing & Public Speaking are my niche. As a tutor, I have helped students at all academic levels (K-12, and beginner undergrad) I've recently discovered a joy for helping others learn and am currently a substitute teacher in Henrico County Public Schools. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I have taught several sections of creative writing; in addition I am a published poet and have several writing projects underway.

My instructional experience includes over 230 credit hours of composition and language arts instruction, including creative writing, literary analysis and Shakespeare. However, most of the instruction has been focused on composition. I developed a bachelor level English course for Pearson Education, working as a writer on a team of three; the course was deployed nationally at over 100 campuses.
Interactive! Students need to apply what they have learned, to reinforce the learning cycle.

My teaching styles vary depending on the student. I had one student who was an adult, moving to Ecuador for 2 years to work. I taught him the basics using methods such as flash cards, workbooks, and homework assignments. We met 3x a week for 3 months. In college I taught a Spanish course for a Christian Highschool near my university. This was rather different since the students were in their early teens. My method with them was 'FUN.' I used pop culture and things that interested them to help them learn. For example: I had them bring in a picture of their favorite celebrity and they had to describe the colors, clothing, and characteristics of that celebrity in Spanish. It was a success.
