Bringing Out The Potential In Students...

My method of tutoring is to work with students where they are and add to their skills, to accomplish the final outcome, preferably an "A" or "B." Some students are visual learners and some are informational learners, or some students combine the two. The potential I see in students is what I try to bring out and have them realize they are capable of going a step further, to reach their goal. The importance of education and the students' continuance of same cannot be stressed enough.

While I was a student at Norfolk State, I was a mentor and a tutor during my junior and senior years while maintaining a 3.0 GPA and graduating with honors. As a junior, I volunteered at one of the local middle schools as a mentor and I tutored mathematics. I also volunteered to tutor students on my campus in the basic math courses that were offered at my campus. During my senior year I worked in the tutoring office at the campus that offered a more formal style of tutoring. I tutored the basic college math as well as some of the advanced mathematics such as Calculus I, Probability and Statistics, and Business Calculus.
