As a graduate of university level education from the English field, I have written a great deal and have been extensively exposed to the writing process. A great deal of my education was focused on Education/Teaching in the event I decided to apply my degree in such a manner. I have some experience with students in the formal classroom environment as well as the one-on-one setting.

I decided to drop education and pursue a degree in solely English with a special interest in literature. My teaching style is tailored to the individual. The first thing I do when I'm trying to teach someone something is determine their learning style. If they don't know it I help them figure it out. I do find that most people learn best by diving in and doing it themselves first, while I serve as a "safety net". Whenever I was teaching new helmsmen or junior officers how to steer survey lines, I would direct them how to do it the first few times, and then when they felt ready to try it themselves, I stood back and let them, not stepping in until the absolute last second.
