My teaching experience was when I was in practice as a psychiatrist. I served as a preceptor to residents in the Family Practice residence program, St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, DE, for about five years in the 1980s. I would apply that experience to the teaching of French, and Russian I would assess and teach high school and college-level students with a conversational method. This would help identify the areas of deficiency. I would also supplement this with reading and writing. Whatever texts the student would have from their institution would be the basic source of course planning. Supplemental reading needs might then also be identified and assigned.
