A Little Bit About Me...

While I enjoy business, working with children is my passion, hence why I am pursuing my teaching certification. I believe the best way to teach students any skill is to let them have hands on experience with it. As an example, in order to learn business skills, students need to practice the skills and understand their relevance in the real world.
I have a strong business background, with an MBA, CPA, and CIA. However, as a student at Susquehanna University, I also volunteered at least 2 days a week at a local preschool where I helped teach the students. While taking a variety of college courses, I found my area of interest in accounting. After receiving my Bachelors degree with honors, began working in the accounting field and towards my masters degree in taxation. I have worked well with many individuals in a variety of industries and most enjoyed the training/supervision of a young staff at Genetti's. A Little Bit About Me...

My recent experience in teaching children includes my own personal experience as I have been teaching my two year old her ABC's, Spanish, counting, etc. I believe it is important for her to gain a global perspective of the world and therefore I teach her about not only our own religion and customs, but also those languages and religious customs of those living in other parts of the world. More About This Tutor...

Since I have the opportunity to work one-on-one with students on a daily basis I try to tailor my teaching style to each student. When students are more visual I try to use photos or stories to explain concepts. However, when students learn better by reading I allow them to do so, and discuss the reading after they have had time to absorb the information. I feel like I have to adjust to each student's individual learning style when trying to teach.
I am currently working towards my Masters Degree in School Counseling and work as an intern at McCaskey High School. In addition to counseling I am interested in tutoring students, as I believe with a solid education anything is possible. I have worked at Huntington Learning Center in the past and enjoyed the tutoring experience. There is no better feeling then helping a student reach his/her potential.
