I have worked extremely hard to develop a well rounded educational background. I have earned a BS in Exercise Science, with a minor in Business Administration. I also have completed several elective math and science courses as prerequisites for a Doctorate of Physical Therapy of which I will be starting in the 2009-2010 school year. I enjoy helping students learn the concepts of mathematics/statistics and helping them to understand how to use these concepts in the real world. Math can be quite challenging, but with the right amount of effort, patience, and guidance, anyone can learn. I know this because I've tutored students as young as 12 and adults as old as 30. I enjoy tutoring and helping others to learn how to solve challenging problems. At the University of Illinois I decided to follow my passion and study both mathematics and finance, this lead to a degree in Actuarial Science. I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process. I'm a student at Augustana College whose academic record has ranged from public school to home schooling to community college and and even private education. I've worked as a tutor for over 2 years at Black Hawk College, at the same time obtaining an Associates Degree.
