While I like students to know that I am an expert in my subject field, I also want them to take the opportunity to learn critical thinking skills. I want them to gather information, ask questions and break things down to a level that makes sense for them. With that being said, I believe I have a teaching style that resembles that of a facilitator. The overall challenge is to help students reach their capacity for independent action, initiative, and responsibility. As an MBA graduate I have a high level understanding of core business practices and principles. I have a finance and marketing concentrated MBA which allowed me to develop my writing and mathematical skills equally. In 2005 I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Communication and minors in psychology and marketing. I also have 3 years experience with small businesses. My teaching experience includes working part time as a substitute teacher for District 87 in Bloomington, IL. I work with Microsoft Office, data analysis, and creative writing projects on a daily basis. I have a well rounded background and feel comfortable teaching a number of subjects in the business, psychology, communication, and language/writing fields.
