A Little Bit About Me...

I will adapt my teaching approach based on the needs and learning styles of the student - with language, I favor a practice-based environment, both teaching grammar and theory, but always putting the new skills in to practice with each session.
I have extensive knowledge and specialization in French language and English literature, with previous experience teaching both. More About This Tutor...

I've been informally teaching for around 7 years, starting with private percussion lessons and high school drumline instruction and most recently tutoring through the Migrant Education Program in the subject areas of English as a Second Language, math, science, and Spanish. I am a current Geography Teacher Education student at Illinois State University minoring in Spanish. I will receive my license after completing my student teaching requirement in the spring of 2015.
I propone an exploratory, learn-by-doing philosophy regarding education; I believe that students are best served producing their own inquiries (guided by an educator), and then seeking resolution through gathering information. Nevertheless, all students learn differently and I pride my ability to adapt to certain situations and provide the healthiest learning environment for my students that I can.

A Little Bit About Me...

While I like students to know that I am an expert in my subject field, I also want them to take the opportunity to learn critical thinking skills. I want them to gather information, ask questions and break things down to a level that makes sense for them.
