I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have endorsements in Science, Language Arts, and Social Science. I student taught 1st grade and spent the 2008-2009 school year as a Teaching Assistant for two Kindergarten classrooms. During my time as a student teacher and teaching assistant I have worked with students individually, small groups, and as a whole group. I have a lot of experience with teaching reading using phonemic awareness and whole language instruction. I graduated from Illinois State University in 2009 with a BS in Biological Sciences and I am currently working towards my certificate in teaching secondary education. I have experience teaching in lab settings, community college classrooms as well as tutoring at the high school and middle school level.
