If anyone is looking for a tutor, I would be willing to help. I'm a senior in college studying math and physics. I got a 35 on the math portion of my ACT. I have multiple undergraduate research experiences in mathematics. Both of those research projects have been presented at math conferences. One has been published and the other publication is in progress. I have gotten an A every Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, and Logic course I have taken in college. In high school I was a 4 year veteran in scholastic bowl. I also did math team for 4 years and qualified for state three times. I was a member of Worldwide Youth of Science and Engineering (WYSE) team for three years which included a trip to the state tournament. Calculus II is one of my top subjects! I am a pre-professional student in Medicine at the University of Illinois - Urbana/Champaign and have taken this course as a Freshman. I got an A+ in the course and will eventually apply to be a TA for the course in the future.

More About This Tutor...

I believe in taking a casual approach in tutoring. From previous experience, I have found that many times students understand the material but tend to get flustered in a classroom environment. I provide guidance when needed, but sometimes students just need someone there to talk it out with them. If this is the case I like to ask questions until they find the answers themselves. This method not only teaches them the material, but also builds confidence because they realize they can figure out much of it themselves.

In college, I was a peer tutor in Math, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. I have sub-taught for CUSD 5, and CUSD 87, for 3 years. I have a Illinois Type 09 Certification, which is currently valid in McLean County. I have good grammar skills, and very good mathematical skills. I am a recent college graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree in both Physics and Applied Mathematics. I have been tutoring and teaching students for over two years in mathematics and science. This experience includes being a leading mathematics and sole physics tutor at my university, working as a science camp counselor, and substituting at a local branch of a nationwide learning center. I have worked with students from the age of 7 to adult.
I love sharing my passion for mathematics and science with students of all ages. My goal for every student is to understand the concept behind the problem, not just how to solve it.
