English ESOL is one of my top subjects! This is the subject of preference for me. I am TESOL certified, and have been teaching as an ESL/EFL teacher for 3 years in schools in China, and for another accumulated 3 years online as a tutor. I find ESL/EFL teaching to be fun and rewarding. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a stay-at-home mother of three children for the past 22 years. When my children were young, I regularly volunteered in their classroom, worked on the PTA and taught Sunday School. I also volunteered on a regular basis at Rosie's Place, a homeless shelter for women in Boston, MA and also at the Transition House, a shelter for battered women and children in Cambridge, MA.
I love working with children and am convinced that if young students get the attention they need as their skills are developing, they will have much more success in school in the years to come. A Little Bit About Me...

I try to relate well to and form good relationships with my students. I have learned through my own experiences and through UCF, various teaching styles; however, the most important element in my style is to listen and to adjust to each child and listen to his/her needs. I want them to understand the importance of the material and why they are learning it. I use a lot of positive reinforcement.
I have been teaching/tutoring since I was 15 years old. Throughout high school I taught Sunday school and tutored. For a year in college I tutored at a day care center. I also volunteered with children with the Reading Buddies and Dream Center, a center for at-risk children. I taught school in the Netherlands for three months and served a semester at Joan Walker Elementary teaching kindergarten and third grade. Currently, I am teaching a fifth grade class of 28 students, 10 of whom are SLD.
