Honors High School Graduate with experience in teaching

My lessons can range from private lessons to group lessons of no more than five at one time. I prefer to be very involved in my students' progress, and will readily explain any questions that they do not understand. My main strategy is basically to lay out the concepts that will be covered that day, go over several practice problems, and give three or four practice problems for the students to work on independently. For art students, I will demonstrate with explanation the concept that we will be covering in that lesson (be it portraiture basics or still life basics), draw diagrams with the steps clearly labeled, and have the student independently work on a similar piece which applies the same concepts. My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I have passed mathematics courses with a B or better through Calculus I. I have taken algebra-based physics I and II at the college level, plus calculus I at the college level. I scored a 155/170 on the GRE quantitative exam, which contains many problems specific to algebra skills.

I am a great motivator and I am great at preparing for exams. I have certifications in group fitness and personal training, and I have completed two marathons and a triathlon. My style is to never give up, and to always see the finish line.
I was recently accepted to the University of Florida College of Medicine, and will be completing a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology starting this fall.
