Through this job, I received training each semester on dealing with learning differences, learning disabilities, and communicating complicated ideas in a manner that is easy to understand.
I use open-ended questions and try to break tasks into manageable steps until the student has a good grasp of the topic. I almost never just give answers away, because that doesn't help you learn; I will walk you through the steps and give you reassurance when you are on the right track.
