I am a graduate of Tennessee Temple University, with experience tutoring at Tennessee Temple University, as well as University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, in various topics, including biodiversity, mathematics (up to pre-calculus), history, and American Sign Language. Each child is different. I always try to notice and acknowledge what benefits each student, as I think this applies to all forms of teaching from academics to athletics. Getting on their level is what ultimately benefits the child from the get go and gains their interest. If I'm interested, then the child is interested. I don't believe the grade of "F" should stand for failure, but for feedback. It means the way you are doing something isn't working correctly. I use Thomas Edison experiment getting the light bulb- took him 99 attempts- if he quit after the tenth try we all might be using whale oil today or kerosene at night to read. I believe all children have the potential to learn however some children need to be motivated more about the importance of learning. I am willing to listen to a child to help them out plus I try to display the values of the Boy Scout Law and oath which includes kindness. It was required that I take Education in a Multicultural Society in college, which peak my interest in education. I began tutoring students and found it very exciting to see students learned and comprehend an assignment or lesson that they were having some difficulty with. As a supervisor with a Social Service agency it allowed me to become even more involved with the community and education.
