As a parent of two school-aged children I have had the oppurtunity to learn about the newest teaching methods employed by teachers at this time. We often work together on math and science. I am currently working on my teaching certification in middle school science, but have always been had excelent aptitude for mathmatics. I also substitute in the Blue Springs, Grain Valley and Fort Osage School district in which I often assist students with work that has been left for them by the teacher, whether it be math, science or english. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to share the thought processes I go through when trying to solve a math problem. In high school I struggled with mathematics, which I believe has always given me a special insight into other people's struggle with the subject.
