I have taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. I also have experience in 7th and 8th grade. My strengths are teaching math strategies such as facts, multi-step problems and algebra. I have a passion for reading and writing instruction. I am highly qualified to teach reading fluency, phonics/ word attack, comprehension and vocabulary. As a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a BS in Elementary Education, I received my first teaching position as a special education teacher in the Rockford School District, 205. After two years, I moved into a 6th grade position, teaching Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. I received my Master's degree from Walden University in Middle Level Education with areas of concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies. I went on to teach 7th and 8th grade Language Arts.
