A Little Bit About Me...

As a volunteer with the Salvation Army I have spent many years volunteering with children, teaching Sunday School and Band. When I graduated from Norwich University, the oldest private military school in the nation with a BA in History, and spent two summers working at summer camps as a Swim instructor and lifeguard, I added to my knowledge and experience of teaching and tutoring. I have spent the last 5 years tutoring in History and music, and have general understanding of Science. As a musician I have focused mainly in Brass and vocal music and specialize in Trombone, but am proficient in Trumpet/Cornet, Baritone/Euphonium and Eb Tuba.

I believe it is very important to be constructive and patient when it comes to teaching. I believe that I am thoughtful, patient, considerate, and compassionate when it comes to teaching. I feel that it is extremely important not to give the student all the answers, but to assist them so they are able to use reasoning to figure out the solutions themselves. I feel that it is very possible that one person can be able to help make an important impact in a students' education.
