In 1977 I earned a Bachelor Degree in Biology and was able to use it for 5 years as a Biological Lab Assistant at the United States Army Aeromedical Research Lab. During my tenure, I earned an MBA in Aviation. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, I worked for 8 years as a financial examiner for the National Credit Union Administration. This career was followed by 6 years as a private business consultant and as a procurement specialist for the Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama. I worked first hand with professor and teaching assistant and have learned what they are looking for. I believe in teaching concepts and helping students fully understand ideals rather than students just memorizing facts. This way no matter what the professor asks they will know how to answer questions and ace exams. If they just memorize things, they can get confused and get answers distorted. I believe in hands on learning and teaching. I would make "Jeopardy" games to quiz students and also have fun at the same time. By quizing on concepts that are being taught, it gives insight to what the student is understanding and therefore, I can adjust and clarify things that the student is not understanding.
