A Little Bit About Me...

Everyone has style of teaching that is unique. Mine is at first appearance very laid back, but on closer inspection is very powerful and extremely effective in the long run. My strategy as a teacher is to study and assess a student first, then to develop a plan with the student regarding how we should approach a task or problem. I am big on having students develop a stronger internal locus of control, empowering them to feel capable to tackle anything that they might encounter with or without the help of others.
I first started teaching in 2003 as a substitute to supplement the income from my guiding business during the slower portion of the year. After showing that I was very capable in the classroom and could quickly develop a strong rapport with coworkers and students, I was hired for the year when another teacher left unexpectedly. In addition, I am a patient individual, which is a useful quality to have when one is having difficulty getting a student to comprehend a particular concept. Florida Writes is designed to measure students' proficiency in writing responses to assigned topics within a designated testing period. Find your tutor now. Beginning in 2010, each essay was scored by one rater. In previous years, two raters were used and the scores were averaged. Prior to 2010, a student could have received a half-point score, such as 4.5; whereas since 2010, no half-point scores are possible.
