I'm a freshman at Southeast High and I'm in ROTC.

I just do what works for the students. I find it easier to teach shyer kids, because that's how I was, but, I'm always up for a challenge!! Also, elementary kids are easier, but again, always up for a challenge! I usually try to figure out how they learn, maybe through a hobby, or something like that.
I've never tutored for money, but I usually help my friends out with homework, school work, ect. I just need the money, so I figured why not tutor? It seems fun. So, I got on here, and viola! Here I am! So. yeah. Not much paid experience, but I'm willing to negotiate on prices!!! I will have the occasional weird times when I will not be available ,thanks to JROTC, but most of the time I'll get out of school at 2:15-ish.

My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : I taught 1st grade for 5 years in Oklahoma City. I am currently a reading specialist in Oklahoma City working with K-5.

I specialize in the foundational reading skills, phonological awareness, phonics, and fluency, with vocabulary and comprehension mixed in. Most children who aren't comprehending what they are reading have holes somewhere in there foundational reading skills. I work diligently to fill in these holes to create a solid reading foundation.

Throw out my high school year I was in a program called “Learn and Serve”. This program consisted of going to the closest elementary school for an hour a day and be a teachers aid. A Little Bit About Me...

I have had a wide range of teaching experiences. I have taught in the public school as well as private school. I have tutored children from the grades of kindergarten through fourth grade. I have taught overseas as well where the population was mainly Asian students.
