I have discovered that every students is capable of achieving greatness if someone will take the time and effort to learn their learning style. I pride myself in being able to break things down to the most basic levels if necessary in order to reach a student. Often you have to know a child's personality, background, and home life in order to understand what he or she relates to. I don't believe in teaching a subject, I believe in teaching a student. My teaching, tutoring, style emphasizes flexibility. While there are specific learning units that should be taught and retained by the student, the flexibility of the teacher, or tutor, will assist the learning experience for the student. It is my personal goal to strive for not only specific subject material teaching, but to also teach problem solving and critical thinking to any student in my classes. Using my undergraduate degree in accounting, I have 10 years work experience as an internal auditor and a computer accounting staff accountant for three CPA firms. I love to learn, and love passing that on to others. I am a patient personality, and I may present a problem to a student to evaluate where they are. I love to assist individuals of all ages. However, I love working with children simply because everything children learn while they are young, will remain with them when they are older. I know that every child is different. However, all children have the capacity to learn. Regardless if I am a tutor, I try my best to help children to become better individuals by being an example. I am currently a senior at University of Mississippi. I graduate May 08, 2010 with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Psychology.
