Throughout the course of my college education, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA. As an undergraduate student, I worked as a private tutor with extensive tutoring experience in all levels of mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, and ACT preparation. A Little Bit About Me...

Because science is a "hands-on" subject, I feel it is extremely important to use demonstrations, examples that are relevant to every-day life, experiments and anything else that will help students understand the world around them. I have been told that I have an "out-of-the-box" approach to learning, but have found it to be successful with the majority of students. Classroom discussions are utilized more often then lectures, because when a student plays an active role in their education, they learn more.
Over the past 12 years, I have worked in both the private and public sectors of the education community. I have taught grades 7-12 in all areas of science. My experience, specifically within the past two years, has been extensive. During this time spent at Webster University I was hired by the Student Literacy Corps, a non-profit organization funded by the university for the purpose of educating students in the St. Louis Public School District in English and writing. In addition to experience in the classroom in developing and implementing lesson plans and developing interpersonal skills with children of many ages, I also studied subjects such as calculus, astrophysics, South African history, and music theory. My experience in school has made me a well-rounded academic, and my experience outside of school has made me a well-rounded educator.
