I have worked most of my life to become an elementary teacher. I have known since I was young that teaching young people was what I wanted to do. I earned a BS in elementary education, with a minor in math. Since graduating and becoming a teacher, I have continued my education through in-services, workshops, and professional book clubs. I have always enjoyed teaching. I love it when students have that moment when they finally get what you have been teaching them. I have taught a wide range of students, from Kindergarten thru 60 year-olds returning to college. As cliché as this sounds - my favorite part of teaching is the satisfaction of knowing I made a difference. I have interacted with individuals across countless backgrounds and understand the idea of each student needing to hear things in their own terms. The simple concept penetrates through my patient teaching style. Some of my favorite ways to connect with students is to create simple analogies using subjects which interest them.
