A Little Bit About Me...

Before I began my professional teaching career, I worked for the Read Across America program helping young learners gain an appreciation for reading. I mentored elementary students who were labeled at risk due to low performance in reading. In 2001, I began teaching pre-k in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 2005, I relocated to Houston and began teaching kindergarten in Ft. Bend ISD. I taught 4th grade Math and Science for 2 years. Currently, I work as a 2nd grade ESL inclusion teacher. I have experience teaching students identified under the special education umbrella- autistic, asperger's Syndrome, and various developmental delays. I have successfully tutored students with ADD, ADHD, and other conditions that make it difficult for them to be 100% successful with classroom instruction only.

Let me Guide Your Child

I prefer that the student understands the purpose behind learning. In order to achieve my goal, I spend quality time in talking and developing an effective communication platform. I avoid doing rote learning. Therefore I make the worksheets and lesson plan as application based as I can. Some techniques and strategies are also employed on occasions.
Having taught for more than five years as a certified teacher, I feel that I have what it takes to be an educator. A Little Bit About Me...

I think it takes a lot for one teacher to reach all of types of students who are all at different levels of interest in the subject being taught as well as at different levels of understanding. However, I feel it is the teacher's responsibility to give them all equal opportunity to learn. It is not just about grades and assignments, that is just the means to an end, but it is about learning. In order for the students to learn, the teacher needs to be passionate about the students as well as the subject that is being taught. That will instill in the students a desire to learn and understand.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the key to academic success is ensuring the student feels a sense of accomplishment and pride in self. My method of teaching focuses on determining the best learning style and beginning with lessons that will bring about success, and then challenging the student gradually. I try to make learning fun, while encouraging questions and an "out-of-the-box" approach to problem solving. The ultimate goal is to develop an independent and motivated learner.
