When I was in elementary school I would help my mother with daycare at our home. I would teach the children new concepts and play with them. During high school I joined the pathfinder club and taught some of the younger children. During college, I tutored elementary children in reading and in math and would make interventions for them. I graduated from Southern Adventist University December 2018 with a bachelors in elementary education. I have spent time substitute teaching in elementary classrooms, working as a behavior teachers assistant, and working at summer camps.

After graduating from MTSU, I went to Prague, Czech Republic to train and work as a teacher of English as a foreign language. I secured a position at Bell School International. Here I taught mostly adult students but I also had a few high school classes. I found it was more satisfying teaching the younger students and so I looked for work at the elementary level. As part of my education program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I was required to complete a full, yearlong internship. I interned from August-October in a 2nd grade classroom and from October-May in a 3rd grade classroom, Monday-Friday.
