My job at Trenholm occasionaly required me to tutor more than one person. I emplement many differnt teaching stragies depending on the students needs. A student may require implements to learn a lesseon, or may require visual attetion while other are audio learns. It is hard to say till you learn the student.

I try to find out the learning style of the person I am teaching and use that as my primary teaching style. Some people learn better by hearing, some by reading or seeing and some by doing. I think focusing on the style that the person prefers to learn and then backing it up with the other styles to reinforce what they have learned is the best way for the student to retain the information. I think it is important to include all 3 styles no matter which way the person learns best because they need to be able to learn in the style their other teachers use as well.

I just recently graduated with my Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a Chemistry Minor in May 2007 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I enjoy the sciences very much. During my Graduate Studies at the University of Georgia, I worked as a Teacher's Assistant for the Statistics Department. This included teaching Statistics Lab Classes and tutoring students after school. In the second year of my Master's studies, I earned an award for Excellence in Teaching. As a side job, I edited Statistics text books for McGraw-Hill. Throughout the years, I have taken many opportunities to assist students with their studies in Statistics.
