I am kind of new to teaching. I have taught my little brother everything he knows, and I've been told I have a really good way of teaching. Younger students catch on very quickly to what it is I am teaching. If they don't catch on quick, then no problem. I'm very patient and never give up until a student understands the concept. When I entered college I was immediately drawn to tutor my peers as needed. I worked with the single mom's program at IVC and also did job coaching for the City of Long Beach Disabled program. Once I graduated from college I had the opportunity to join the Boys & Girls Clubs, specifically designing educational and technology programs. I enjoyed tutoring about 50 youth a day. As a result some parents requested that I run a special off hours program at their middle school to tutor the ADHD kids. Every child in that program raised their grades 60% over the course of the semester. I was a math tutor at "Math Crazy" for about 2 years. It's located near Clovis West High School in Fresno on Teague and Milbrook. The highest math class I tutored was Pre-Calculus. I got a 4 on my AP Calculus Exam, and currently I am enrolled in Math 81 (Differential Equations and Linear Algebra) at California State University-Fresno, last math class for my Civil Engineering major. So far, I got straight A's in my math classes and I plan on taking two more math classes to get a minor in Math.
