Journalism is one of my top subjects! Having served as both a contributing author and editor of UNG's online newspaper publications, my passion for journalism is strong. Under the tutelage of Ron Martz, a 30+ years veteran of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, I developed a myriad of writing, editing, and interviewing skills.
My approach is patient, and I delight in allowing students to make discoveries with purposeful guidance. The overarching goal is to show students that they are capable of doing great things and achieving what they may have doubted was possible for them. That is what truly gives me joy in the tutoring process; not merely instructing, but empowering students.
First and foremost, I am passionate about helping children and youth learn, overcome obstacles, and believe in themselves, whether that be academically or otherwise. Over the years, I have learned and had the opportunity to work with and encourage children and teenagers with various behavioral issues, ranging from Aspergers Syndyrome to anxiety and anger issues,so I have a great deal of patience with students whom others consider difficult to work with.
