I love to teach!

I am a graduate of the University of Idaho where I received both my BS and MS in Chemistry. I taught general and physical chemistry laboratory courses while earning my MS as well. Finally, I tutored students in all branches of chemistry including high school level and organic. Since my MS was in physical chemistry, I learned quite a bit about mathematics and have even tutored my own chemistry students in algebra. Chemistry does require algebra, after all.
I like to ask questions of my students so they're the ones who figure out the topic as opposed to me telling them. Then I like to expand on that by going into the details of the subject as that's the only way to truly understand something. In my experience, tutoring this way helps the students become familiar with the topic as well as understanding why the topic is important.

College Algebra is one of my top subjects!

Don't tell me 2+2=4. Tell me WHY 2+2=4.

Although I wish I could count the endless amount of time I spent playing teacher as a child, I know parents are looking for more expierence than an eight year old and her dolls. It was through tutoring that I was able to help several students improve their grades, both through emotional support and exceptional knowledge in the subjects. I enjoy learning new things and sharing that knowledge with others.
I believe that teaching through lecture and hands-on activities is the most effective. A student that is capable of "teaching" the teacher a lesson and explaining the subject in their own words will have a greater understanding of the subject.
