A Little Bit About Me...

Since I have been around 15, starting with my growing nieces, it has always stood out to me how the child's brain develops. Seeing one of my nieces grasp material quicker than the other. I took up two years of Early Childhood Education in high school as a co-op class and learned a lot about the development of children. I didn't want it to stop there so I signed up for City Year. which is a nonprofit organization which focuses of students in low-income neighborhoods with a high rate of high school drop-outs and our ultimate goal is to work with children so they are on the aim line to graduate 12th grade. As a student, I always tried my hardest and sought out opportunities to work with children in a variety of settings. I have earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and participated in numerous other activities, including Vacation Bible Schools and participating in MECA activities at school. I have taught for one full year in Friars Point, MS where I taught all subjects to a classroom of 19 first graders.
