A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is customized to each student's needs. Because all students have different learning styles my instructions are patterned to maximize that student's particular style. After evaluating each student with a baseline test, goals and objectives based on the state's/district's curriculum are determined. My style is setting high but realistic expectations with rigorous assignments. I also try to have an overdose of encouragement and make the learning session fun time for students.
Teaching has been my last career change. My prior experience has been in the field of manufacturing, maintenance engineering services and construction management. I always wanted to become a math teacher, but in order to become one in a communist regime; you had to be a member in the Romanian Communist Party. So, I obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineer (172 credit hours). I was working as a designer in Romania and had in parallel a private math and physics tutoring business. At NEIU I finished a lot of credits hours toward my second BA in Secondary Education Mathematics. Meanwhile, I found a job as a Mechanical Engineer at Mercury Products. Three years ago I have relocated with my husband's company in Dayton, Ohio. Meanwhile, I found an Estimator job at PTC and I was laid off due to the economy. So, I pursued my Alternative ATL at Antioch McGregor University and finished it this year.
