My comments on tutoring Spelling : Spelling is one of my favorite subjects, and I can help you improve your spelling skills. I am extremely well educated and I couldn't have done this without knowing how to spell. I can help you improve your spelling skills.

I teach exactly how I study. I discovered as an undergraduate student that a student has to have a plan of action when taking any course. You cannot just study without a plan and expect to score highly in a test. My teaching method has been tried and tested by me,so much so that I have consistently scored highly in most of my courses from undergraduate through graduate school and into the doctoral program. I will share my secret study methods with my students.
Patience, repetition, mini quizzes, and following a plan, pretty much summarize my teaching style. I also like to make my students comfortable, by being understanding, encouraging them to ask questions, and being very willing go over material that I have covered. my teaching style is what the children need to know about that lesson, and how can I help them get what they need to be successful in school. Classroom management is one big thing about my teaching if you don't have order in your class you not running your class its running you and that not good for teaching students.
I have been a reserve teacher for the last five years in the Dayton public School system. I teacher basic education from grade k-12, but my best subject is k-3 and I am getting my certify license in early childhood education at Central State. I just got done with my student teaching and that was very educational for me because it was just about what I was already doing in teaching but it let me know that I was doing what I had learning in school. I have volunteered in the Clark Shawnee School System for past 3 years tutoring/mentoring kids with learning disabilities in reading skills. Last school year I was hired as a paid tutor in the school system tutoring a Chinese child (ESL student) in grammar/vocabulary/reading/spelling. This year I will be assisting with math as well. I retired 3 years ago from a State of Ohio agency who worked primarily with folks with both physical and mental health disabilities after 30 plus years of service. These included adults as well as transition youth. I worked there from the time I was 18 years old. A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored students individually at school, but a tutor needs to start somewhere or will never get experience. I have always helped fellow students with homework by explicitly explaining answers when they are asked or at least triggering their minds to what they need to learn. I am anxious to teach middle school aged kids as it will be a fun experience and I have always thought about teaching kids, because we all need to have the opportunity to an education.
I do not have a specific style of teaching for each student. Each student has their different way of learning. I would start out trying several ways, such as; visual, hearing, physical etc and see what the student is most comfortable with and which one is most likely to educate the child in a way that the student will remember the information while struggling the least.
