A Little Bit About Me...

I started substitute teaching in 1983 while I was working on my Master's Degree at California State University, Long Beach. I have been a substitute teacher in Long Beach, Santa Barbara, Glendale, and Palm Springs. I have had experience as a long term substitute in Senior English for a year at Palm Springs High School, also in Palm Springs, I did six months as a Special Education teacher at Cree Middle School. While I was in Glendale, I worked a year at Allen Continuation High School teaching English and Social Studies. I have had extensive experience preparing lesson plans, grading papers, helping students understand subject matter and providing parents with information about their child's work in class.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like to teach individual or group lessons. At college of the Desert, I had a reputation for being an easy going with a lot of patience when tutoring. My teaching philosophy is to listen to the student and to focus in his or hers needs. I use scientific or graphic calculators when needed. Also, I use computer software to accelerate their learning experience.
I have been in school the last 10 years. I earned two Liberal Arts degrees in 2005. I also earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona in 2009. Tutoring is a profession which I have enjoyed for over nine years, often while teaching in the classroom or online, concurrently. I was able to teach multi-subjects to college students because I excelled in all subjects myself, receiving numerous scholarship awards and honors.
