The teaching style I use is solely dependent on the learning style of the student I am teaching. I was always one to seemingly understand or learn things backwards from many of my piers and so I am intimately aware of the importance of knowing how the student learns in order to best go about teaching in such a way that it feels right and natural to the student, boosting their confidence and so promoting additional success in the endeavor. I have been an instructor in the Martial arts for over 20 years, and have taught every age group. I have a talent of putting complex issues into layman’s terms. I am passionate about the subject matter and can transfer that enthusiasm to the student. I use logic, humor, stories and historical references to explain a concept to the student. I believe students will try harder and perform better if the subject matter is simple, interesting and compelling.

A Little Bit About Me...

While in attendance at the University of Arkansas, I earned two degrees, a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in American Studies. In addition to these degrees, I also earned a minor in History. As I was completing my undergraduate degree, I participated in varsity athletics, maintained a part-time job, was active in student government, and volunteered through AAO. I am capable of aiding in history, geometry, algebra, and other basic courses.
I love to help children learn all that they possibly can because I feel that a quality education is the great equalizer. I am easy-going, task-oriented, and very passionate about helping those who may be having trouble in learning something.
